Good Things to Come

September Presidency Message

Dear Sisters,
This month we are focusing on the Christlike
Attribute of “Virtue.” Virtue means purity.
It begins in the heart and in the mind.  “It
is a pattern of thought and behavior based on
High moral standards.” A core element of virtue,
one that is often ignored by the world, is chastity.
Virtue and chastity are inseparably connected.
Some have suggested that virtue is primarily for women,
but it is not gender based.  The Latin root word for virtue
is virtus, which means “strength.”  Thus virtue applies not
just to women but to all.  In order to remain virtuous,
we need each other.  We will all need to help each other,
and if one of us falls or fails, we can help him or her “return”
The Book of Mormon relates the story of two thousand
young heroes whose virtue and purity gave them the
strength to defend their parents’ covenants and their
Families’ faith (Alma 56-58).  Their virtue and
commitment to be true at all times changed the world!
As we run life’s race, it is virtue, meaning purity and
power, that will sustain us through the long miles.
May we all stand for virtue in a world that is so rapidly
departing from it as our Heavenly Father would want us to do.

Love,
Dantzel, Gaylene, Cindy, Tracey

Remember...

August Presidency Message

Dear Sisters,
This month we are focusing on the Christlike attribute of "Humility."  To be humble is to recognize gratefully our dependence on the Lord--to understand that we have constant need for His support.  Humility is an acknowledgment that our talents and abilities are gifts from God.  It is not a sign of weakness, timidity, or fear; it is an indication that we know where our true strength lies.  We can be both humble and fearless.  We can be both humble and courageous.  In D&C 112:10 it says, "Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers."  May we ever be humble and worthy of our Heavenly Father's choicest blessings.

Love,
Dantzel, Gaylene, Cindy and Tracey
